If you plan on spring cleaning this weekend, save your scrap metal, old electronics and textiles for St. Mary’s School in Huntsville. The school is looking to help you get rid of you old stuff in a fundraiser to help improve their playground. If you have any scrap metal, you can drop them in a grey bin at the front of the school. St. Mary’s also has a bin for old electronics. They are also accepting textiles you can put in garbage bags and drop off at the front door.
Below is a list of items the school is accepting. However, it isn’t limited to this list. If you have an item that’s not on this list, contact Parent Council to confirm if they will accept your item.
Scrap Metal: pop cans, tin cans, BBQ lids, stoves, fridges, freezers, old bike frames, steel pipes, etc.
Electronics: ink cartridges, broken cell phones, old laptops and digital cameras.
Textiles: clean clothing, bedding, towels, stuffed toys, belts, purses, shoes, etc.
If you can’t get the donations to the school, you can email Parent Council at
