The Heritage Canada Foundation has placed Bala Falls on its Top 10 Endangered Places in Canada list. You can learn more at www.heritagecanada.org, but it says the falls are an important cultural landscape and a natural physical landmark. It also states they define Bala’s identity and that they are central to Bala’s recreational and tourism-based economy. Save The Bala Falls’s Mitchell Shnier agrees.

Swift River energy Limited has issued an addendum that its original hydro plant option be pursued with a public comments deadline set for June 29th. A request for an extension to that deadline has been denied.
