Staff of the Rosseau Spa at the J.W. Marriott will be able to keep their tips. In a letter received by this station today, Leah Leslie, Director of Sales and Marketing for The Rosseau says that in response to feedback from staff and clientele about the company's recent decision to change the gratuity structure at Spa Rosseau, they believe it's prudent to reverse that decision and maintain the structure as it is. Leslie says the company takes its role as an employer and member of the Muskoka community very seriously and that Niagara Resorts (Muskoka) Inc. is committed to growing the business and generating more year-round jobs in Muskoka. A Toronto Star article first highlighted how staff at the spa were being asked to hand over almost half of their tips. Leslie says that in the coming months, the company will continue to explore new ways to ensure that Spa Rosseau is a profitable and sustainable business where visitors can come to relax and enjoy the Muskoka region.
