A Guelph woman is dead following an ATV crash Saturday in Gravenhurst. Bracebridge OPP continues to investigate. Shortly after 6:00am Saturday, emergency crews were called to Southwood Road. Around 4:00am, a man and woman had left a residence on an ORV after consuming an unknown quantity of alcohol. Neither was wearing a helmet. When the operator failed to negotiate a corner, the ATV left the roadway, coming to rest in a wooded area beside the road. The male passenger was able to walk back to the residence to get help and was later taken to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and eventually airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital with serious injuries. Twenty-year-old Heather Parr of Guelph, was pronounced dead at the scene. OPP remind motorcyclists and off road vehicle operators to always wear a helmet of appropriate size and don't drink and drive.
