Novel Marathon Raises Money for Employment and Literacy Services

Hits

A group of writers scrambled together to create over 815,000 words in 72 hours to help promote literacy in Huntsville. The 12th annual Novel Marathon took place a couple of weeks ago at the Huntsville Civic Centre. Of the money raised, $15,000 is going towards the YMCA Employment and Literacy Services. Team Leader Nancy West says it allows them to put the money towards programs like the Computer Savvy Seniors.

West says the money helps them expand on creative programs they can't normally get through base funding.
