Backpack Campaign Supports Hundreds of Local Kids

Hits

Hundreds of kids in Parry Sound-Muskoka were able to get the supplies they needed to head back to school. This year's annual Backpack Campaign collected about 475 backpacks for our region. Director of Services with Family Youth and Child Services of Muskoka Cyndie  Tyrrell says families are still feeling the effects of the recession.

Tyrrell says school supplies can be very expensive, which can cause stress to many families. Bell Canada has spearheaded this campaign for the past six years. Although the campaign is officially over, you can still donate school supplies by dropping them off at your local Staples, as they continue the program.
