The Oakley Village Square in Vankoughnet now has a heart defibrillator on site. Training to use it happened recently. Councillor Barb McMurray says the device has also been approved for off-site use should someone in the community run into heart trouble. Vankoughnet is about a half hour from the Bracebridge hospital, so the community thinks its great to have a defibrillator in the heart of the village, should it be needed if time is of the essence.
