If you think about the use of water as a source of electrical power, Paul Norris wants you to see the positives. The President of the Ontario Waterpower Association is in Muskoka to talk about the critical role waterpower plays in the electricity generating mix.
Norris reminds residents that these water plants help reduce the cost of electricity. He says the good news is that all of the existing hydro production in Ontario, including production in our area, is keeping prices lower than they otherwise would be. On a go forward basis, Norris says that every new megawatt of hydro that is built will do the same thing, because it's a cost-effective way of producing electricity and it lasts forever.
