Push For Bracebridge Dog Park Still On

E-mail Print PDF

Not everyone is happy with how the Town of Bracebridge treats area dogs. Dog owner Gloria Evanytsky is disappointed the Town recently banned dogs from the Kerr Park ball diamonds - it's a fenced in area where many had walked their pooches. Dogs can't return until ball seasons over in the fall. Evanytsky says Bracebridge needs a dedicated dog park all of its own….

Some people are bothered by dogs running free in parks. For safety's sake, Evanytsky says having a dog park would improve things for such people. A dog park would be expensive, but the Town's expected to look at options in the future.

Under a cost sharing plan, the Municipality and the District would each cover half of a road's shoulder paving. It's up to Bracebridge to tell the District which roads should be considered. Ideally, they'd be ones where active transportation routes would benefit residents. The District wants suggestions by August 12th.
