Two Car Shows Attract Special Interest Vehicles This Weekend

A double dose of nostalgia this weekend. On Saturday stop by the 20th Annual Gravenhurst Car Show happening from 9:00am to 8:00pm at Gull Lake Rotary Park. All vehicles are welcome and just $5 for admission. Then on Sunday treat dad to the Bracebridge B.I.A. Father's Day Car Show happening in downtown Bracebridge. Don’t miss over 100 special interest vehicles, oldies music and food. There will be a road closure in effect for Manitoba Street from Anne Street to Ontario Street. The closure will happen from 7:00am-5:30pm. Doors Open in Gravenhurst and Muskoka Lakes this Weekend

You can discover the story behind some interesting spots in Muskoka this weekend. It’s the annual Doors Open Gravenhurst and Muskoka Lakes. On Saturday in Gravenhurst, check out five new venues this year including Fire Station number 1, St James Anglican Church and Peter’s Players. Then on Sunday in Muskoka Lakes visit Duke’s, Bala’s Museum with Memories of Lucy Maud Montgomery, the Hall Family Log Cabin at the Muskoka Lakes Museum and new this year, the Annex to the Bala Falls Hotel. Driver Faces Charges in May Crash on Highway 69

A Kitchener man is now facing charges after a single vehicle crash on Highway 69. The crash happened in Wallbridge Township on May 20th and sent him and his 80-year-old brother to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Both remain in hospital in stable condition. The 76-year-old now faces careless driving and seatbelt charges.

 

Muskoka Brewery Making a Splash in St. John's, Newfoundland Tonight

Muskoka Brewery is proud to be placing a Muskoka Chair on the Big Rock. Tonight, Muskoka Brewery reps are in St. John’s Newfoundland for the official launch of their Muskoka beers in Newfoundland. The Brewery’s Founder and Head Brewer Gary McMullen will be showcasing a variety of the company’s brews with food pairings and a little live music. The festivities happen at the Martini Bar on George Street in St. John’s. McMullen says the brewery’s pumped to be in Newfoundland and that the response to its Cream Ale and Mad Tom IPA has been astonishing.

Bracebridge High School Awards Top Athletes

Bracebridge High School held its athletic awards this week. Highlights included the Junior Female Athlete of the Year Award going to Kristen MacDougall and Junior Male Athlete of the Year Award going to Brian Moore. Senior Female Athlete of the Year is Natalia Hawthorn and Senior Male Athlete of the Year is Tyler Summers. The awards were held Tuesday in the school's cafeteria.
