Body Found in Oro Medonte

Barrie OPP along with Oro-Medonte Fire and Georgian Ambulance attended a location on Line 5 north in Oro-Medonte Twp this morning at 8:30 am. Police are currently investigating a death at this location. A post mortem examination will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Coroner in Toronto to determine the cause of death. Further details will be released as they become available.

Flood Affected Residents in Muskoka Lakes Can Get Waste Disposal Vouchers to Use at The Eveleigh Transfer Station

To assist Township of Muskoka Lakes property owners with cleanup of flood related damage, the Town is issuing waste disposal vouchers to give you free access to the Eveleigh Transfer Station in Port Carling. Residents who dont have insurance coverage that would compensate them for solid waste disposal costs related to flood and who require the Town's financial assistance to address waste disposal costs, can get a voucher at the site. The transfer station is located at 1174 Eveleigh Road. You have until June 15th to get a voucher. For more details, contact the Town.

BREAKING: Transport Truck Has Crashed Into a Gravenhurst Home: Driver Taken to Hospital With Vital Signs Absent

CRASH: Police urged motorists to stay away from a Gravenhurst intersection for a few hours Friday after a transport truck crashed into a house at the corner of John Street South and Sharpe West. It’s believed the driver had a medical issue. No one in the house was hurt, but the home and truck sustained damage. Police say the 54 year old driver was transported to Bracebridge Hospital with vital signs absent and was later pronounced dead. From reports at the scene, the driver was in the process of backing the truck into an unloading dock, became incapacitated and the truck rolled down towards a house, travelling thru the four-way stop, coming to rest along the side of the residence. It all happened just after 10:30am. The man's name hasn't been released pending notification of next of kin.

Giant Garage Sale at HPS Saturday

The Huntsville Public School fundraising committee is continuing to raise funds for a school trip. Tomorrow, is the Giant Community Garage Sale at the school from 9:00am until 2:00pm. If you have stuff to sell you can still buy a spot for your goods. Funds raised from the sold spaces will go towards the grades 7/8 trip to Ottawa and Montreal next month. Frost Warning Ended

The frost warning has ended for Parry Sound, Huntsville and Baysville. However, we are expected to get frost overnight as the temperatures drop to a low 1C. The weekend is looking great with plenty of sunshine for Saturday and Sunday.
