New Federal NDP Candidate For Parry Sound Muskoka

Hits

It’s a second kick at the kettle for Dianna Allen. The McKellar Township resident has been acclaimed as the Federal N-D-P candidate in the riding of Parry Sound Muskoka. But Allen is no stranger to local politics, she ran for the NDP in our neighbouring riding of Nipissing-Timiskaming in 2008. Allen says the top priorities for this riding must be to protect our air, water, land, fish and wildlife. She also points out that Parry Sound- Muskoka has suffered from one of the lowest average incomes for decades, now aggravated by huge losses in manufacturing. She is critical of the Tories spending on beautification projects prior to the G8 summit and criticizes both the Conservatives and the Liberals over their squabbles about signatures and Party logos on government cheques while the impoverished in the region continue to suffer.
