OPP Say Watch For Wildlife on Highways

E-mail Print PDF

The change in weather means more wildlife making their way onto area highways.  As food supplies dwindle in the woods, animals are making their way closer to roads and highway shoulders as they look for food.  Also mating season for deer and moose is here so they’re moving from one area to another and that means crossing highways.   Bears are also crossing roadways as they search for more food.  Good advice from the police is slow down so you have more time to react in case a large animal springs up in front.
