A Northern Ontario MP is holding town hall meetings to make people aware of what's involved when transporting high level nuclear waste. Bruce Hyer will hold the first series of meetings in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Parry Sound during November. Hyer says the federal government is getting close to picking a permanent site for the waste and many communities in Algoma want it in exchange for money. This means highly radioactive material has to travel through many communities along Highway 17 to get to its destination.
