The NDP have put forward an amendment to the provincial budget regarding Ontario Northland before Wednesday's budget vote. It's similar to Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli's amendment that would require a report be presented to Legislature before any asset of the ONTC is sold, but the NDP amendment takes it one step further. If passed, it would force a vote in the legislature before any privatization could go forward. North Bay and District Labour Council President Henri Giroux these amendments would do more than the PC's amendment which doesn't stop any privatization. With any amendment, it needs unanimous consent by all three parties to pass.
