With the vote on the provincial budget bill looming, reviews at the committee level continue which include amendments dealing with the ONTC. On Monday, a NDP amendment that would have made it extremely tough for government to go ahead with the privatization of the ONTC did not get support from the Conservatives or Liberals. Nipissing MPP Tory Vic Fedeli abstained from the vote. Instead he is pushing for his amendment that he filed last week. It requires a revenue and economic impact assessment to be presented to Legislature before any sale of any asset. Fedeli’s amendment will be considered Tuesday in committee.
