PRESS RELEASE
The North Bay Jr. Trappers scored a goal in every period and goalie Mitchell Knight made 28 saves as they defeated the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners 3-1 at the Joe Mavrinac Community Centre on Monday evening.
Justin Schneeberger, Bryce Lipinski and Eric Samtleben scored for the Jr. Trappers.
Travis Jones got the lone goal for the Gold Miners on a late 2nd period power play.
Samtleben got the Trappers some insurance with an early shorthanded goal in the third period.
North Bay product and Oshawa Generals 2nd round pick Kenny Appleby, took the loss in goal for the Gold Miners as he turned aside 30 shots.
