Unknown persons set fire to an abandoned building near Hearst and Crime Stoppers would like to know who did it. The building, Bambino’s Truck Stop on Highway 11 and 632, was set on fire around 1:00 in the afternoon on July 25th. It’s been empty since 2004 and the owner says there was no insurance for the property, with damage estimated at over $25,000. Police add the former restaurant and motel had been vandalized repeatedly over the years and there was a suspicious fire just a week before. Crime Stoppers wants any information about the persons responsible and the OPP says the incident put first responders at risk for no reason.

Crime Stoppers is anonymous, call toll-free at (1-800) 222-TIPS.
