The last time Gil Penalosa came to Timmins, he started a spark in the Downtown Timmins BIA that resulted in the creation of the Downtown Urban Park. The 8-80 Cities executive director is returning once again on Friday to Timmins and is hoping to light a fire under the Healthy Community Partnership in the Porcupine Health Unit, as he leads a discussion on making Timmins a friendlier walking and cycling space. Earlier in the day, Penalosa is making a presentation at a workshop at the PHU’s classrooms on Pine Street South entitled, “Livable Community Project; Creating a more Livable and Sustainable Timmins.”
