It’s a tough thing to go through when you lose someone to drunk driving. But there’s always help right around the corner with Mothers Against Drunk Driving. And the annual brunch, silent auction and victim’s vigil is coming this Sunday to raise funds in support of local victims and families. The event takes place at the Porcupine Dante Club from 9:30am and the public is very welcome to attend. The day also marks the start of Project Red Ribbon, an awareness campaign that places red ribbons atop their vehicles, symbolizing a need to drive safe and sober. Statistics show an average of four Canadians are killed and 207 injured in drug and alcohol-related crashes. Project Red Ribbon runs from December 1st to the first Monday after New Years.
Brunch tickets are $20.00 for adults and $5.00 for children six to 12-years-old. Tickets are available from all volunteers or by contacting the chapter at (705)363-5374 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
