Zellers employees in Elliot Lake are probably feeling anxious about their jobs. The store is already shutdown because of June’s roof top collapse at the Algo Centre Mall and now there’s word most Zellers will close. Parent company Hudson’s Bay won’t say which outlets will disappear by next March. It does say the shops have about 100 employees and are not considered viable under the Zellers’ banner. The one bit of good news is Hudson’s Bay could convert some stores under a different name but again it’s not saying which ones. Hudson’s Bay sold most Zellers to U. S. based Target but the American retailer passed on the Elliot Lake store.
