Police confirm that human remains found west of Gore Bay are that of a man who went missing in 2010. On Thursday, a male who was hunting on property adjacent to Wosley Bay in Gordon Township found human skeletal remains. Back on May 27th 2010 a 78-year-old man suffering with Alzheimer’s wandered away from his home near Stone Lake in Gordon Township at the west end of Manitoulin Island. A post mortem’s positively confirmed the remains to be that of Alfons Jauernig. No foul play is suspected.
