The anti-nuke group Northwatch has to be smiling after reading this report. In Sweden, that country’s radiation authority says a plan to bury high level nuclear waste is deficient and there’s not enough information to ensure public health is protected. In Ontario 21 communities, including several in Algoma, are interested in accepting Canada’s high level nuclear waste in exchange for money. But Northwatch believes the Canadian disposal plan could now be delayed because Canada modeled its proposal after the one in Sweden.
