CAA Worst Roads Voting Continues

E-mail Print PDF

It’s still spring and the CAA wants you to let them know where the worst pot holes or series of pot holes are in your community. Crumbling roads and holes keep Kapuskasing and Hearst residents on their toes when it comes to driving. You can vote on-line for your town’s favourite pothole or stretch of road that needs repair. The voting continues until May 31st at www.caaworstroads.com. Mayors of both communities continue to advocate for more infrastructure funding to repair crumbling roads.

Mosquito Season Begins

E-mail Print PDF

It’s officially mosquito season in the north and the local health unit wants you to dump your water. By reducing pools of water in your yard, you’re taking away breeding grounds for mosquitoes and reducing the risk of West Nile virus. The Porcupine Health Unit suggests draining water from old tires, plastic containers, wading pools, wheelbarrows and clogged rain gutters. You can change the water in bird baths weekly and attach screens on rain barrels to keep mosquitoes out.
