Haldimand-Norfolk’s Member of Provincial Parliament has spoken out against the new Ontario budget. Premier Kathleen Wynne delivered the first budget of her reign yesterday, and the outline vows to invest millions over the next two years into a youth job strategy to get young people into the workforce. However, MPP Toby Barrett doesn’t feel the effort is enough. He says the province should spend more on getting rid of Ontario’s debt so it can get back to funding institutions like schools and hospitals as soon as possible. Barrett also believes the budget should have focused more on disabled Canadians looking for employment.
