An unlicensed contractor is facing jail time and some hefty fines after some unfinished jobs around Hamilton. Thirty-four-year-old Jason Dennis pleaded guilty in court to not having a license. This violates the Consumer Protection Act and a city bylaw which requires contractors to be licensed. Homeowners would lay down a 50 per cent deposit on a new roof and Dennis would drop off some supplies and then never come back. Dennis is facing over 45-thousand dollars in fines and restitution, along with 30 days in jail.
