Man in Hamilton Hospital After Surviving Going Over Niagara Falls

Hits

A man is fighting for his life in a Hamilton hospital after surviving a 50-metre drop over Niagara Falls.  The unidentified man, who is believed to be in his 40s, is just the third person to survive a plunge over the falls without a safety device.  Police say witnesses saw the man deliberately jump into the river yesterday.  The man went over the Horseshoe Falls and surfaced in the Lower Niagara River, in what police believe was a suicide attempt.  The man suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
