Haldimand County is getting nearly $125,000 to expand the local trail system.  The county applied for funding under the TransCanada Trail initiative to help complete a section of Haldimand’s trail network.  Last week, the request was approved.  The funds will be used to offset the cost to connect a trail from Caledonia to the Hamilton Chippewa Trail.  Mayor Ken Hewitt says the expansion of Haldimand’s trail system will further enhance opportunities to enjoy the county’s many natural amenities.
