From 2013 through 2015 your support of the Georgian Bay Walk, Run, Pole will help buy a new Telemetry System for monitoring cardiac patients. The current system can no longer be updated so together, we are putting funds aside to buy a new $80,000 system. Remaining funds raised in those years will help the Foundation buy the highest priority in the Health Centre. In 2013/2014 the highest priority is updating our pharmacy information system.  "Parry Sound Cruzers Car Club”, Cruise Night every Tuesday at 6.30 pm, May 21 through Sept 3, 2013 at the Town Dock Parking Lot of the 30,000 Island Cruise Lines.

The Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve presents the exhibit “Life in The Biosphere” at the Museum on Tower Hill from April 3rd to May 30th

Some Saturdays during the exhibit, Kids are invited to take part in a variety of activities. There will be a pre-registration(705-774-0978) for each session, and a maximum of 20. The suggested age range for the kids should be 8-12. Donations are always welcome! Parents can drop off kids at the designated time with a snack and appropriate clothing for being outdoors.

May 25th: "Celebrating Food!" 9am-12 pm Ahh, spring is in the air. What a great time to celebrate food! Join us for some fun games and activities to learn how plants get pollinated, why local food rules, and some grow-it-yourself food projects. Who knows, you might even get to do a little munching.

May 25th (Saturday) Wasauksing United Church is having an All Day Pancake Breakfast on May 25th for only $5.00 each. There will also be a Bazaar and Rummage sale. Everyone is welcome. Fundraising for children's lunches at Wasauksing School as well as for fixing up the Church.

May 25th (Saturday) The Dun-Ahmic Snowriders are hosting their 3rd Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday May 25 at Deer Run Golf Course. Registration 0930, shotgun start at 10 am. June 01st (Saturday) The fourth annual TOUCH A TRUCK event will be held on Saturday June 1st from 10-12pm at the YMCA complex in Parry Sound. There will be vehicles of all shapes and sizes available for the children to explore. June 01st (Saturday) A golf tournament is being held Saturday, June 01st at Parry Sound Golf Club to raise funds for Princess Margaret Hospital cancer research and patient care. Price for golfers is $140 for non-members, $110 for members and includes golf, cart and steak lunch. June 01st-02nd (Saturday-Sunday) Saint James United Church. Anniversary Weekend (Looking Back) – On Saturday, June 1st, at 7:30 p.m. the Elliot Lake Men of Song will entertain us. Come out and listen to their wonderful variety of sacred, secular and barbershop music. A free will offering will be collected. On Sunday, June 2nd, we will hold the ‘official’ anniversary service when we will take time to reflect on our past and what we have learned. There will be special music provided by our choir and a cake to share.

June 02nd (Sunday) The Algonquin Regiment Veterans will hold their annual Ceremonial at 2:30pm on Sunday, June 2nd at the Algonquin Memorial on the fitness trail. Flag raising, floral tributes and D-Day Remembrance.

June 06th (Thursday) Students from Parry Sound High School are travelling to Europe next June to participate in the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. In advance of next year's trip, they are holding a Walk-A-Thon on June 6th. The 8 km Walk replicates the distance that Canadian soldiers advanced on the first day of fighting in 1944. The Walk-A-Thon is being held to raise funds to support the Juno Beach Centre in Normandy France and to offset the cost of the trip. Students will be going door to door to collect pledges for this event.

July 06th (Saturday) Joe’s Team triathlon/duathalon will be taking place at the CNIB Centre at Lake Joseph on July 6th . All proceeds from this event go to support construction of the Joe Finley Head and Neck Translational Research Centre, and since 2006 has raised $6.3 million making it the most successful grassroots fundraising initiative in the history of the hospital. Collectively, Joe’s Team has raised $8.3 million of its $10 million goal. Participants are able to compete as an individual, or join a relay team in an extraordinary day where they can swim, bike, and run. For more information, please visit joesteam.ca.

September 21st-22nd (Saturday-Sunday) Saint James United Church. Anniversary Weekend (Looking Forward) – The weekend of September 21st and 22nd will be the highlight of our year. On the Saturday evening, we will host a dinner (6:00 p.m.) and variety night (7:30 p.m.) featuring members of the congregation as well as the surrounding community in music, song and laughter. Jim McCoubrey will cater the meal. Tickets are $25 person. (Time to be determined.)
