Junior A hockey is returning to Seguin. The four year agreement was signed yesterday for a Greater Metro Hockey League team to play out of the Humphrey arena starting next season. Seguin Mayor David Conn says this is good news for local hockey players to have the opportunity to play at a high level of Junior "A" hockey without leaving the region. European team president Michal Kolarik says this partnership will bring a high level Hockey program geared towards the success of players, both individually and as a team and in the community and surrounding area. Seguin Director of Community Services Kelly Krist hopes to bring in fans from in and around the area to watch and cheer on these talented young local, U.S.A. and European hockey players. The community is invited to attend a Powasson Eagles playoff game played at the Humphrey Arena this spring to launch the new Seguin Junior Hockey Club and Spring Training Camp for the team will be announced shortly. The team name and logo will be chosen by the community and local schools through a "Name your Junior Hockey Club" contest.
