The Algonquin Regiment will have freedom of the town this Sunday as a new monument in their honour gets unveiled. Beginning at 9:30am, veterans from the Algonquin Regiment will begin a parade into Parry Sound at the CN station on Church Street. They are expected to arrive on the steps of the Town Office around 10:45am where Mayor Jamie McGarvey will grant them freedom of the city. A dedication ceremony of the new monument will take place around 11:00am on the fitness trail by the Stockey Centre with lunch being served at noon.
