Halloween night is less than a week away and local OPP want to remind everyone to ensure it is a fun and safe night. Motorists are urged to keep children safe by staying sober, staying off cell phones, slowing down and being extra alert for children darting out into the street. Parents can help kids stay safe by choosing a route for them to follow and remind them of the basic traffic safety rules, to stay in well lit areas, to always travel in groups, to never go inside homes or cars, and set a time for them to return home. All trick or treaters should use the sidewalks, keeping in mind to look both ways before crossing at intersections
