The Parry Sound Rotary Atoms completed the biggest comeback possible and have advanced to the OMHA quarter finals.  After tying game one of the series, the Parry Sound team lost games two and three to the Highland Storm meaning they were a loss or a tie away from elimination.  The boys battled hard in game four coming back from a 3-0 deficit to eventually win 6-5 in overtime on the road, then played a strong game five at home to win 3-1, forcing a sixth and deciding game in Minden.  Last night, Parry Sound was up 2-0, but the Highland Storm scored three straight second periods goals to take the lead.  It was short-lived as Parry Sound responded with three straight goals of their own to lead the game 5-3 after two periods.  In the third period, Parry Sound battled through tough scrums in the corners, along the boards, and in front of the net and blocked a number of shots and played to a 7-4 victory.  Their next opponent will be Gananoque with action beginning this weekend.

The Barrie Colts are getting a player back from the NHL.  The Winnipeg Jets have sent Mark Scheifele back to the Colts after four games with the big club.  Scheifele was eligible to five games with the NHL club before the Jets would have to burn a year on his entry-level contract.  Scheifele didn't register a point in the four games with Winnipeg but Barrie will welcome him back as he scored 22 goals and 27 assists in the 30 OHL games this season.
