In local under-16 soccer action Crafts N' Things topped Kawartha Credit Union 8-5.  Players of the game were Morgan Elkin and John Evans.  McNabb Home Building Centre downed Canadian Tire 8-3.  Players of that game were Quinn Steele and Aidan Dudas.

Parry Sound Athlete Brings a Bronze Medal Home from OFSSA

Allie Weeks captured a bronze medal at OFSSA Track and Field.  Allie jumped 11.76 metres in her final jump to place third in the provincial triple jump finals.  Earlier in the meet she placed 9th in long jump.

OFSSA Begin for Two Parry Sound High School Athletes

The high school provincial track and field meet starts today with two Parry Sound High School students competing.  Allie Weeks and Devin Jarick made it through regionals last week to be able to compete in the three day OFSSA competition in Oshawa.  Allie will compete in senior girls long jump today and senior girls triple jump on Saturday while Devin is one of two runners from the central region competing in the intellectual boys 100 metre dash on Friday.

Hammond U14 Win on the Road

The under-14 Hammond Transportation soccer team travelled to Stayner on Wednesday night for the second game of the season. The first half saw the Parry Sound team have some good moments followed by some good moments for the Clearview team. Parry Sound finished the half with a 3-1 lead. If not for some key saves by our keeper Jordan Inglis the score could have been 3-3. Strong consistent play in the second half saw Parry Sound take the victory by a final score of 7-1. The teams next games is next Wednesday at PSHS.

In local under-8 soccer action State Farm played Edward Jones Investments with players of the game awarded to Spencer Lashbrook and Noah Quinn.  Walmart played Harry's No Frills.  Players of the game were Wyatt Salt and Karson Newton.  Bayshore Financial took on Parry Sound Mall.  Players of the game were Sullivan Burrows and Abigayle Pilon

In local under-10 Lake Forest Construction & Renovations  played Horseshoe Pines Marina.  Players of the Game were Jodacey (JoJo) Walker and Nolan Bell.  Also Home Depot played Dairy Queen.  Players of the game were Andrew Overend and Oscar Crafts

U10 and U16 Travelling Teams Soccer Scores

The Frank Penfold Construction under 10 soccer team played their first home game at the YMCA field on Monday night.  Strong in net for Parry Sound were Nolan Bell and Jodacey Walker.  The team is playing by new Ontario Soccer League Rules for players aged 10 and under that focus on skill building and therefore don't record game scores or team standings.  Meanwhile, the Parry Sound Gordon Bay Marine Under-16 travelling team played Ramara last night and managed a 2-all draw.
