E-mail Print PDF

Three teenagers are facing a number of charges after being pulled over by East Algoma OPP and the driver admitted the vehicle was stolen.  OPP say an officer noticed a car on highway 17 speeding through Serpent River area at about 3 AM on Tuesday, and clocked it going 155 kilometres per hour in a 90 zone.  After pulling the car over at 17 and 108, police say a 15 year old male from Elliot Lake got out of the vehicle and said he stole the car, and didn’t pay for gas obtained in the Espanola area. The driver, along with his two passengers -- a 14 year old male from Elliot Lake and a 13 year old male from North York -- were arrested and taken into custody. The driver is facing 5 charges, including for being impaired while driving, theft, and stunt driving. The other two passengers are being charged with theft and possession of stolen property. They’re to appear in Blind River youth court in August.
