Tories Give Budget Thumbs Down

E-mail Print PDF

As expected area Tories don’t like Thursday’s provincial budget.  Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says Northern Ontario is mentioned only twice in the   document.  On top of that there’s no mention about the Ring of Fire which could create thousands of mining jobs in the James Bay region.  Fedeli says that tells him the chromite discovery is not a priority for the Liberals.  Fedeli says the Liberals have chosen to go down a path that keeps people struggling.

Fedeli: ONTC Next Liberal Scandal on Horizon

E-mail Print PDF

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the next Liberal scandal just around the corner is Ontario Northland.  And he’s calling on the Liberals to stop the sale of the ONTC before he’s proven right.  The Liberals claim selling the transportation agency will save $265-million, but Fedeli disagrees.   He says the Liberals aren’t taking into account the severance they have to pay the laid off workers or pension liabilities.  And the new owner of the ONTC bus routes will get government subsidies.  Fedeli says these factors will add up to more than $500-million so there are no savings by selling off Ontario Northland.
