Small and rural hospitals in Northeastern Ontario will share $5.2 million dollars for a variety of projects.  The health centre in Blind River is getting money to convert more medical records into an electronic format.  There’s also money for a program to keep high risk seniors aware and mobile during a hospital stay and to help them make the transition back to their home when they’re discharged.

Flooding Threatens Espanola

E-mail Print PDF

Parts of Espanola could be flooded because of the melting going on at the Spanish and Vermillion watersheds.  The area is expecting a record amount of water flow over the next seven to 10 days and the town has identified three areas that could get hit.  They are Penage Lake Road at Black /Darkie Creek, Highway 6 at McCulloch Drive and Mead Boulevard at Black Creek.  Residents in the affected areas can take precautionary measures now like removing valuable items from basements and low-lying areas. The town will update residents as the situation progresses.
