Members of the Dodge Motor Company family visited Manitoulin Island for the first time ever this week. On Tuesday, they visited with locals at the Dodge hunting camp, which was bought by Daniel Dodge at about 17 years old in the 1930s. Rick Nelson, from the Old Mill Heritage Centre, says the family jumped at the invitation to come up and learn about Daniel Dodge’s history on Manitoulin. It was 71 years ago next month that Daniel Dodge, heir to the Dodge motor company fortune, fell out of a boat and drowned after a dynamite accident.
