Some more details about plans for a new hotel/restaurant for Elliot Lake’s parking lot 3, located between new Orleans Pizza and the Beer Store.  Andrew Young, the owner of the Fireside Inn, says everything’s at an early stage right now, and it’s too early to get into too many details about his plans for the property. Young is president of Werdna Holdings, which the city’s approved the sale of the property to. He says he was facing the decision of either renovating the old building, or moving into a new one. Young says if he goes ahead with the new hotel/restaurant, it would be a chain, but it’s too early to say what they’ll be going with. He says plans for something like this have been in the works for just over a year, and would tie into the city’s 108 beautification plan nicely.  Young adds at this time, there’s still a lot of engineering work, so it’s too early to say even if the site will be suitable for them.
