Premier Dalton McGuinty says he will be working with Elliot Lake Mayor Rick Hamilton to figure out how to help the city rebuild after the roof collapse of the Algo Centre Mall. McGuinty was in the city this afternoon speaking to the two victims’ families, first responders, rescue workers and Mayor Hamilton. During an address to the community and media, McGuinty identified the victims only as “Doloris and Lucy”. An official statement of identity of the two victims has not been released by the OPP. As part of his address McGuinty said it was incumbent on the government to review the response of the tragedy and learn from it. Meanwhile rescuers are 99-percent sure that the two people already pulled from the rubble are the only victims of Saturday’s collapse.
