Moose FM CKNR 94.1 - Elliot Lake

A prominent and well known resident of Elliot Lake has passed away.  Veterinarian Doctor Dennis Prodan died suddenly Tuesday night.  Prodan, who had roots on St. Joseph Island, operated his vet clinic in Elliot Lake for decades and another one in Blind River.  He also served on city council.  Prodan was appointed to council in 1993 when a vacancy occurred and when he ran in the 1994 election, he became deputy mayor.  He stayed on council for only the one term.  Prodan was married to Carole Prodan a retired principal at Elliot Lake Secondary School.  A memorial service for Prodan took place during the weekend at the family property.
