A new surgeon in Sudbury means patients don’t have to travel to other parts of the province for a specific procedure.  The procedure is J-pouch reconstructive surgery.  It involves removing a person’s large intestine or rectum with ulcerative colitis.  Doctor Anthony Caycedo has successfully performed the surgery in Sudbury.  In the past, Northern Ontario patients have gone to Toronto or London to have J-pouch surgery.
