Soo Eagles Take the NOJHL Championship

In game six of the NOJHL Championship Final series. The Soo Eagles won 3-1 over the Sudbury Junior Wolves on Monday night to take the series and championship 4 games to 2.

 

Blind River Skating Club Brings Home Medals

The Blind River Figure Skating Club attended the 25th Annual Island Skate in Little Current on the weekend. A total of 17 local skaters and came home with 18 medals.

 

Nickel District Minor Hockey Finals

Nickel District Minor Hockey Championship Finals  - March 26th and 27th

After holding 1st place overall through the season, the Blind River Thunder PeeWees took home the championship title in the final showdown against the Sudbury Bulldogs.

The Elliot Lake Vikings PeeWee Rep team lost their final match 3-2 after 3 periods of overtime to the Valley East Rebels on Sunday.

Monday Local Sports Cast

In Atom Hockey on the weekend Elliot Lake No Frills tied 3-3 with Thessalon in Game 1 and lost 5-3 in game 2.

Elsewhere the Topper’s Pizza Squires had two wins at home: 12-4 and 10-2 over Thessalon.

Foodland remains undefeated after two wins, 5-0 and 3-2 over Thessalon.

In the Greater Metro Hockey League (GMHL) the Bobcats dominated Powasson 14-4 on Sunday.

In the NOJHL the Sudbury Jr. Wolves lost to north Bay 3-2 and Blind River won 5-3 over the Soo Eagles.
